Rafael Serrano

SebastienCohendet

Originary from France, discovers the philosophy and practice of freediving in Kotao island (Thailand) where he obtains levels 1 & 2 at “Blue immersion” diving club with instructor Denis Kovalev.

He continues learning at “Apnea Canarias” centre which was created by Miguel Lozano and Santiago Jakas in the Canary Islands (Spain) where he gains level 3.

This is followed by completion of freediving-instructor training from Scuba School International (SSI) with Miguel Lozano, FIM world sub-champion.

Motivated with promoting this sport in the magical “Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata y Nijar” (Andalusia, Almeria, Spain) Sebastian starts to teach this discipline and his passion with Buceolasnegras diving centre.

In his journey, he meets the free diver and instructor Rafael Serrano and they start conducting AIDA free diving courses and training with SUBPARKE diving centre in Rodalquilar at the same time as SSI courses with BUCEOLASNEGRAS centre.

They also open “Apneacabodegata” club where they offer new and stablished divers with learning and recreational free diving experiences within the wonderful natural park of Cabo de Gata.

For most AIDA Instructors, teaching freediving is not what they do for life, but what they live for. They offer training on a club basis, mostly in pools, sometimes in lakes or the sea – freediving is so diverse that you can find an AIDA Instructor almost everywhere on the planet.
